Studio

STUDIO MANAGER, Full Time, Central London

Psycle is a boutique fitness group with currently five sites across London and an online platform, Psycle at Home. We are always on the look out for exceptional leaders to join us and manage our growing studios.  

Job Summary 

This role is ultimately accountable for every aspect of the business from people, customer service, marketing, operations and finance. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to manage your time effectively to make sure both the studio and its teams get what they need to operate smoothly. 

A week in the life of a Studio Manager will be a mixture of floor shifts with admin time. When you are on shift, you will be leading the team and reviewing staff and business operations to ensure everything runs effectively and efficiently. As Manager, you are able to adapt and respond quickly by making choices that build the highest performing work environment. You continually provide coaching, feedback and follow through to drive morale, engagement, happiness, knowledge, confidence and skill set.  Admin hours give you time to focus on people (culture, recruitment, HR, training & development), driving community spirit and customer service, assessing the building operations and financial reporting to drive studio profitability. 

Above everything, your leadership style cultivates a positive team environment that is grounded in the company’s core values and accelerates people’s performance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Studio Operations

  • Oversee daily studio operations including people, retail and facilities
  • Manage staff scheduling to ensure studios run smoothly and efficiently
  • Conduct regular studio walkthroughs and inspections to ensure facilities are maintained to a high level and studios remain compliant with H&S regulations
  • Oversee the daily checklists and maintenance logs completed by staff to ensure maintenance issues are escalated correctly and resolved quickly
  • Be responsible for managing stock levels, and stock ordering
  • Manage and drive studio performance by analysing studio weekly analytics, working towards budgets/KPI targets set

Team Leadership 

  • Hire, train and nurture a strong team 
  • Continually provide coaching, feedback and follow through to drive morale, engagement, happiness, knowledge, confidence and skill set
  • Provide effective team/performance management by holding regular staff check ins, team meetings and assessments
  • Build creative team initiatives to ensure strong brand engagement from employees 
  • Work closely with the Regional Manager to ensure we retain talent and focus of progression and upskilling individuals within the company


Community Marketing

  • Build strong relationships with the local community to drive new business into the studios as well as working on offering our community exclusive benefits 
  • Work closely with the internal marketing team coming up with ideas to better promote the studio/offerings
  • Manage and drive studio performance by analysing studio weekly analytics, working towards budgets/KPI targets set to focus on areas of the business where you can drive revenue/retention

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • 1-2 years + of proven ability leading people in a management role
  • Has proven experience managing operations 
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment 
  • Great time management and communication skills


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Usual working hours will be between Monday to Friday but you will need to be flexible with your schedule on these days. Working hours will be based on business needs but can start as early as 5:45am and run as late as 9:30pm.

ASSISTANT STUDIO MANAGER, Full Time, Oxford Circus

We are looking for a dynamic and bright Assistant Studio Manager for our flagship studio in the heart of London. You will be responsible for supporting the General Manager in managing Psycle's biggest studio (over 6 floors) in the heart of London. Your role will be a mixture of on-shift work and admin hours to ensure you have the opportunity to lead from the front whilst also planning for success.

You will have strong people management skills and have experience helping to manage a large team in a busy environment. You are unflappable under pressure and have the ability to adapt and reprioritise quickly. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is already an Assistant Manager in a small team or an experienced team leader who’s looking for their next challenge. 

Job Summary

As an Assistant Manager, it’s your job to support the General Manager in overseeing care and quality control of staff and business operations. Your role is all about seeking solutions to problems and improving performance so that the studio is a high performing work environment. Through quick responses, excellent communication, curiosity, creativity, coaching, delegation and follow through you will be responsible for building the success of the business. You are invested in coaching your team through candid conversations to get the job done, improve performance and build a pipeline of skilled leaders. You are also passionate about seeing the company grow and are committed to ensuring exceptional customer service is given at all times grounded in everyday kindness and community spirit. You are proactive to review and support the studio operations to ensure everything runs effectively so that you are building upon studio profitability. 

You are integral to the studios success and remain personally invested in your development to fuel yours, the teams and the company’s success.   

Key Qualification

  • 1+ years of proven ability leading people and has delivered results
  • 1+ years of proven operation successes within a similar environment
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast pace setting

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the team on the ground and supporting the General Manager with ongoing people management, training and coaching
  • Support the General Manager with studio operations to ensure the business runs smoothly across the site
  • You are quick to respond to any problem and are able to proactively feed forward what is business critical
  • Support in building scheduling, shift covers, pulling reports, purchasing and ordering
  • You will learn how to analyze your business to make positive changes and drive for results.
  • In the absence of the Studio Manager, you are fully responsible and are passionate about taking on any tasks to ensure business runs as usual and meets company demands

Additional Requirements

  • Delivers feedback with empathy, care and authority to drive results
  • Leadership style is confident, authoritative and professional 
  • You will need to be flexible with your schedule. Working hours will be based on business needs but can start as early as 5.30am and run as late as 9:30pm
  • Shifts will be scheduled on Mondays to Sundays. 
  • Experience working within the fitness industry would be desirable but not essential
  • Barista experience would be desirable but not essential

STUDIO FLEXI LEAD, Part Time

We are looking for a driven leader with proven customer service experience to join our studio team. This role will flex between Front of House shifts and Studio Lead shifts and is therefore a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain the skills and confidence to break into management. Please refer to our Front of House job description for a breakdown of the roles and responsibilities.

Job Summary 

As a team leader, you thrive on responsibility and understand the importance of keeping your team inspired, energetic, happy and focused at work. You are responsible for setting up the day by opening or closing the studio and delegating roles and responsibilities so that everything is well cared for and attended to across the team and business. You are able to keep a 360 awareness of how people are performing to ensure the energy and vibe remains upbeat and professional– from the music to people's body language. 

You are excellent at feeding down or forward communication to ensure the right people are in the know of anything business critical. You are the eyes and ears of our senior studio management team when they are absent and therefore responsible for upholding standards across the studio and team.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Confidently leading a team in a fast paced environment
  • Preparation and set-up of the shift and ensure all daily tasks are completed
  • Support the Studio Supervisor and Studio Manager with everyday management tasks such as ordering and operational walkthroughs
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is being provided throughout the customer journey from sign-in, class set up, Energy Kitchen and after class
  • Be an expert on our products and procedures offering guidance, knowledge and tips about who we are as a company, our concepts, instructors and events
  • Training and updating our team on product knowledge and updates
  • Ensuring the studio space, including changing rooms and Energy Kitchen, is clean with exceptional hygiene standards
  • Reporting operational issues and supporting  with the operational needs of the studio, including but not limited to deliveries, helping with Housekeeping, stocktake 
  • Take action in each moment to make it count 

Key Qualification

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Leadership style is kind, confident, authoritative and professional
